چکیده

High-harmonic generation (HHG) in graphene heterostructures, consisting of metallic nanoribbons separated from a sheet by either few-nanometer layer aluminum oxide or an atomic monolayer hexagonal boron nitride, is investigated. The amplify the near-field at relative to externally applied pumping, thus allowing observation third- and fifth-harmonic carbon modest pump powers mid-infrared. dependence nonlinear signals on ribbon width spacer thickness, as well power polarization are studied, enhancement factors (EF) bare reaching 1600 4100 for generation, respectively, demonstrated. work supports use heterostructures selectively enhance specific processes interest, essential capability design nanoscale devices.

Graphene based heterostructures

insulating substrates such as SiO2 are highly disordered, exhibiting characteristics that are far inferior to the expected intrinsic properties of graphene. We have developed a novel technique for substrate engineering of graphene devices using layered dielectric materials to build graphene based vertical heterostructures. We employ hBN, an insulating isomorph of graphite, as a substrate and ga...

Anatomy and Giant Enhancement of the Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy of Cobalt-Graphene Heterostructures.

We report strongly enhanced perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) of Co films by graphene coating from both first-principles and experiments. Our calculations show that graphene can dramatically boost the surface anisotropy of Co films up to twice the value of its pristine counterpart and can extend the out-of-plane effective anisotropy up to unprecedented thickness of 25 Å. These findings ar...

Twist-controlled resonant tunnelling in graphene/boron nitride/graphene heterostructures.

Recent developments in the technology of van der Waals heterostructures made from two-dimensional atomic crystals have already led to the observation of new physical phenomena, such as the metal-insulator transition and Coulomb drag, and to the realization of functional devices, such as tunnel diodes, tunnel transistors and photovoltaic sensors. An unprecedented degree of control of the electro...
